Reservations for Idaho Power campgrounds and picnic shelters can be made online through CampLife Reservations. Reservations can be made year-round and up to nine months in advance.

and at C.J. Strike including:

Locust campground at C.J. Strike and Carter’s Landing at Hells Canyon are first come, first served.
Reservations are highly recommended and can be made nine months in advance, year-round. All reservations must be made before midnight Mountain Time the day prior to your arrival. Same-day reservations are not allowed. Campers may arrive without a reservation but will have limited availability throughout the summer.
A $7 reservation fee will be added to the campsite rental for all reservations made online. Reservations can also be made by phone, for a $15 fee.
Hells Canyon Campgrounds
Carters Landing is a semi-developed campground. It’s a first-come, first-served park and camping fees must be paid at the park’s fee station.

Note: All fees are subject to state taxes. For Idaho campgrounds, a state liability tax of 6% and a state lodging tax of 2% for a total of 8% will be applied. For Copperfield and Carters Landing campgrounds, a Baker County liability tax of 7% and a State of Oregon liability tax of 1.5% for a total of 8.5% will be applied. Taxes will be calculated at the time of payment when reserving online. Taxes are already included in cash payments.
Maybe. All unreserved sites will be available for campers arriving without a reservation. However, if a site you stay at has been reserved for a multi-night stay, you will have to change sites.
We encourage reservations to ensure you have a spot for the duration of your trip. Same-day reservations are not allowed. Next-day reservations for Hells Canyon parks, must be made before midnight Mountain Time the day prior to your arrival. For C.J. Strike parks, next-day reservations must be made before 10 a.m. the day prior to your arrival.
Cash and checks are no longer accepted at North Park, Scout Park or Cottonwood Park. You must have a reservation to stay at these parks. Cash is accepted at Locust Park.
All Idaho Power campgrounds are subject to a 14-day stay limit.
With the exception of the Hells Canyon Park, a person my reserve up to five (5) sites on the same dates. At Hells Canyon Park, the limit is two (2) sites reserved per person/household for the same date. Each reservation can be made for up to 14 days. After 14 days, visitors are required to remove all camping equipment and relocate at least five miles from their original camping area for at least five days. During those five days, they may visit any other Idaho Power lands, including parks. After the five days, they may return to the original area, if space is available.
With the exception of Woodhead Park, campsites cannot be reserved or used for equipment only; they must be occupied.by checkout time on the second day of the reservation (1 p.m. Mountain Time). Multi-day reservations will be cancelled if the site is not occupied in time.
We encourage visitors to use the online option. It costs less ($7), and it is easier to choose a site and manage your reservation online. Phone reservations cost $15. Reservation fees are nonrefundable.
Yes. We continue to offer discounts for visitors 60 and over and for veterans and active-duty military.
Hells Canyon Campgrounds: Campers over 60 receive a $5 per night discount. All current or retired members of the military receive an $8 per night discount. Discounts are only available when paying with a credit card. Discounts cannot be combined. Note: The senior or military discount at Carters Landing is $2.
C.J. Strike Campgrounds: Campers over 60 receive a $3 per night discount. All current or retired members of the military receive a $5 per night discount. Discounts are only available when paying with a credit card. Discounts cannot be combined. Note: The senior or military discount at Locust Campground is $2.
Yes, restrooms are open at all of our parks and campgrounds, and showers are available at Woodhead, Copperfield, Hells Canyon and McCormick campgrounds.
It’s the pet owner’s responsibility to ensure pets do not disturb other visitors. Pets may not be left unattended and must be restrained and/or kept on a six-foot leash at all times. Pet owners must clean up and dispose of animal waste properly.
Water is turned off October 15 through March 15. Dates are subject to change depending on weather.
Wireless (Wi-Fi) service is not available at C.J. Strike or Swan Falls campgrounds. Wi-Fi service at our campgrounds in Hells Canyon comes from third-party providers and is not operated or maintained by Idaho Power. Service can be spotty and is best suited for using email or surfing the internet. Bandwidth and speeds are strongest near the comfort stations. Service generally does not support streaming media like Spotify or Netflix or video conferencing apps such as Zoom.
In Hells Canyon, Wi-Fi service information is available at each park’s fee station.
